Happy faces thanks to Persil

Children are our future – for this reason, Persil has set up the initiative “Projekt Futurino”, which has already made 400 education and development projects possible. As a result, more than 100,000 children have been supported by “Projekt Futurino”. Persil has brought the initiative into being in 2007 on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. Ever since – always over a specific time period – consumers are called to apply with their project ideas.

The focus of “Projekt Futurino” is on projects which enable children to learn more about nature and to acquire a better awareness of the environment while at the same time experiencing its fascination.

Have a look at some projects of “Projekt Futurino” (the video is in German):

With the support of Persil, the Leibniz-Gymnasium in Dormagen realizes the project “Solar energy – our chance for the future”: Sixth grade students get to know zero-emission technologies of the future and can apply their knowledge in photovoltaics and H2-Tecnique. The application for this project was submitted by a physics teacher of this school in fall 2009.

The kindergarten St. Franziskus in Wesel is delighted in the explorer room with two laboratory places which were enabled by “Projekt Futurino”. Many generations of future kindergarten children have the possibility to explore and experiment there. The objective is to understand chemical coherences and to gain first basic knowledge– for an overall interest in natural sciences.

Henkel employees support reforest desertified region in Turkey

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 by Hanna Philipps | 1 Comment | 1 Comment »

Life is tough in Goemuergen in Turkey’s interior, where hardly anything grows, and surviving is made even more difficult by erosion and floods. But Oemer Sdiguezel, Henkel employee in Duesseldorf (Germany), founded together with friends an aid association in Germany – Hilfswerk Goemuergen e.V. – dedicated to halting the desertification process and reforesting the landscape.

As a first step in this re-greening process, the association members including several Henkel employees assisted by local helpers put 1,000 fence posts in place to fence off an area of 180,000 square meters in autumn 2009 to protect it from the ravenous appetites of the large sheep, cattle and goat herds. In April 2010, they plan to plant several hundred young trees.

Abruzzo Hearthquake

Friday, August 21st, 2009 by Cecilia de Guarinoni | Leave a Comment | No Comments »

I would like to warmly thank you all people who partecipated in the funds raising in Italy in june in favour of the Abruzzo Hearthquake. 364 italians employees partecipated and we collected 6.000 euro, the Henkel Friendship Initiative e.V. donated 25.000 euro and 6000 euro have been collected from external companies in Germany. I visited l’Aquila in July to scout what we could support with money collected and I have been impressed by the situation. Many people are living within camps which you can see anywhere. Many others are guests of the Goverment within Hotels which are located close to the seaside. Firemen are at work and they are doing structures to save buildings and to make streets and places safe. The center of L’Aquila is completly closed, none can enter and all activities are closed (banks, shops, ….). Within the center no one could restart his/her job because buidlings are not safe. Only few are working at the moment. Restructuring is not yet started. The hearth is still moving and people are quite afraid.  One of the major need is to envolve people in activities. Without a job or concrete activities to run, people get lost and desperate and phsycological deseases dramatically increase.

Here I met Mrs Lea Contestabile who is running the project which we would like to support. The project of MUBAQ (childrens museum of L’Aquila association) aims to build a center (with a number of very small and little houses) which can offer to childrens the possibility to partecipate to artistic and cultural activities which have the objective to help them to go on and to elaborate what they experienced and their losses. The association is now working within teints and camps. IMG00035-20090722-1205We are waiting the start up of the project to release the money collected.
